And we did it!

While most tourists flock to the southern islands, we discovered that some of the most breathtaking beaches and islands are tucked away in the northern part, often overlooked by international travelers. Not only that, but the northern region boasts the best winding roads and the highest mountain in the Philippines, providing riders with an unparalleled experience without the hassle of ferry crossings.

Our tour eliminates the need for ferries, yet still promises stunning beaches and majestic mountains, making it the ultimate motorcycle adventure in the Philippines.

Itinerary:

Day 1. Arrival in Manila

You are flying into Manila and staying at a luxurious hotel in the vibrant Makati area overnight before our tour begins. We will gather at the renowned biker spot, “Handlebar,” for a delightful evening of dinner and drinks. Get ready for an unforgettable start to our adventure!

Day 2. Manila – Subic (224 km)

We are riding out of Manila on the tollway and head north against the City of Subic. We are doing a loop to see the coastline before arriving in Subic in the afternoon. Subic is a coastal city located in the province of Zambales, on the western side of Luzon Island. It is best known for the Subic Bay, which was once home to a major U.S. naval base until 1992. After the military base was closed, Subic Bay was transformed into a freeport zone, attracting businesses and tourists alike.
The area is now a popular destination for water sports, eco-tourism, and beach activities. Subic offers a mix of natural beauty with its beaches and rainforests, as well as developed areas with resorts, shopping centers, and entertainment facilities. It’s also known for its diving spots, marine parks, and adventure activities like zip-lining and trekking.

Day 3. Subic – Bolinao (206 km)

We hit the road after breakfast, and the road from Subic to Bolinao is a scenic route that takes us along the western coast of Luzon, passing through several provinces, including Zambales and Pangasinan. The route offers picturesque views of the coastline, mountains, and rural landscapes.
We will pass through small towns, agricultural areas, and occasionally catch glimpses of the West Philippine Sea. The roads vary from well-paved highways to narrower, winding roads as you get closer to Bolinao, which is known for its beaches, caves, and historical landmarks like the Cape Bolinao Lighthouse.
We will stay for 2 nights at a beach resort in Bolinao

Day 4. Bolinao rest day and island hopping

In Bolinao there will be a lot of optional activities to choose from such as; Visiting Patar Beach; Known for its golden sands and clear waters, Patar Beach is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. The beach is also famous for its stunning sunsets. Exploring the Cape Bolinao Lighthouse; This historic lighthouse offers panoramic views of the surrounding coastline and is a great spot for photography.
Discovering Enchanted Cave; A natural cave with a crystal-clear underground pool where you can take a refreshing swim. The cave is surrounded by a garden with interesting rock formations.
Swimming in Bolinao Falls; There are three falls (Bolinao Falls 1, 2, and 3) where you can swim, relax, or have a picnic. Each offers a unique setting, from cascading waterfalls to natural pools.
Visiting the St. James the Great Parish Church; This centuries-old church is a significant historical and cultural site, featuring beautiful Spanish-era architecture.
Alaminos Hundred Islands: While technically not in Bolinao, it’s close enough for a day trip. The Hundred Islands National Park offers island-hopping, snorkeling, and kayaking opportunities.
Boat Ride to Tara Falls; Take a boat ride to Tara Falls, a less-visited but beautiful waterfall that offers a peaceful retreat into nature.
Bolinao is ideal for those looking to enjoy natural attractions and a more relaxed, serene environment.

Day 5. Bolinao – La Union (170 km)

Today, we ride out after a late breakfast, and Bolinao to La Union is a scenic coastal drive along the western side of Luzon, offering diverse landscapes and cultural landmarks. Along the way, you’ll encounter serene beaches like those in Anda and San Fabian, historical sites such as the Lingayen Gulf and Manaoag Church, and natural attractions like the Agoo-Damortis National Seashore Park. La Union province is known for its surf spots in San Juan and vibrant coastal towns.
Also here, we will spend our evening and night at a beach resort.

Day 6. La Union – Vigan (133 km)

Today, we will start around 10 AM and ride a shorter route to the famous city of Vigan. The road from La Union to Vigan is a picturesque drive along the northern coast of Luzon. The route winds through the provinces of La Union and Ilocos Sur, offering views of the West Philippine Sea and rolling hills. As you ride, you’ll pass by quaint towns, green fields, and historical sites like the Quirino Bridge. The journey culminates in Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage city known for its well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, and rich cultural heritage.
We will spend the night in a traditional Spanish style hotel in the middle of the small city and explore the city in the afternoon and evening.

Day 7. Vigan – Pagudpud, Blue Lagoon (174 km)

After a good breakfast, we hit the road from Vigan to Pagudpud’s Blue Lagoon. It is a scenic route through the northern regions. And the ride passes through the provinces of Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte, with views of the rugged coastline, mountains, and rural landscapes. Along the way, you’ll encounter historic sites like the Paoay Church and the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, as well as the stunning Bangui Windmills. The journey ends at Pagudpud’s Blue Lagoon, a pristine beach known for its turquoise waters, powdery white sand, and tranquil atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and water activities.
We will spend our late afternoon, evening and night at a beautiful oceanside resort.

Day 8. Pagudpud – Tuguegarao (221 km)

Riding out in the morning on the road from Pagudpud to Tuguegarao takes us through a diverse landscape in northern Luzon, starting from the coastal town of Pagudpud, the route heads inland, crossing the mountainous regions of the Cordillera. You’ll drive through lush forests, winding mountain roads, and valleys. The journey also passes through small towns and rural areas in Ilocos Norte and Cagayan provinces. As you approach Tuguegarao, the terrain becomes flatter, leading into the fertile Cagayan Valley, known for its agricultural lands and the Cagayan River, the longest river in the Philippines. Tuguegarao, the capital of Cagayan, is known for its hot climate, historical churches, and the nearby Callao Cave.
We will spend our evening, eating at a local restaurant, and overnight in a nice hotel in the small city.

Day 9. Tuguegarao – Banaue (216 km)

After breakfast around 08:00 AM, we start our journey hitting the road from Tuguegarao against Sagada to Banaue in a scenic and adventurous route. The journey begins in Tuguegarao, winding through the Cagayan Valley’s fertile plains before heading into the rugged terrain of the Cordillera Mountains. These mountain roads are truly a challenge and a stunning experience for every bike rider.
As we ascend, the road becomes more and more challenging with sharp curves and steep inclines, offering stunning views of lush forests, deep valleys, and mountain ranges. Along the way, we pass through remote villages and towns, experiencing the local culture and lifestyle. The journey culminates in Banaue, famous for its UNESCO World Heritage-listed rice terraces, a breathtaking sight carved into the mountainsides over 2,000 years ago.
Depending on conditions and time, we are staying overnight in Sagada or in Banaue in stunning mountain views.

Day 10. Banaue – Baguio (214 km)

Bright and early morning after breakfast again, we hit the road in a scenic ride and more challenging mountain roads. The route takes you down from the highlands of Banaue or Sagada, known for its stunning views and hanging coffins, through winding mountain roads and picturesque landscapes. As you descend, you’ll experience lush forests, rolling hills, and charming mountain villages. The road eventually leads you to Baguio, the “Summer Capital of the Philippines,” renowned for its cool climate, vibrant parks, and bustling markets. We will spend two nights in a hotel in the center of the city.

Day 11. Baguio Loop (or optional rest day) (160 km)

Today, you can relax and explore the city of Baguio, or you can join the optional Mountain Loop to the highest peak in the Philippines at Mount Pulag.
In this long loop, we take the scenic route towards the highest peak and from Baguio we tide through the towns of Itogon and Kabayan, then follows the road up to the Mount Pulag National Park. We enjoy the panoramic views and the cool climate near the peak. The park is known for its sea of clouds and diverse flora and fauna.
To loop back to Baguio, we head south from Mount Pulag through the town of Bokod. Continue on the scenic mountain roads that eventually lead back to Baguio.
This loop offers a combination of mountain adventure and scenic ride, returning us to the cool, vibrant city of Baguio.

Day 12. Baguio – Angeles City (170 km)

Around 9 AM, we are riding out from Baguio to Angeles City. Descending through the mountainous terrain of the Cordillera region into the lowlands of Luzon. We ride via the Marcos Highway or the scenic Kennon Road, then continue on the MacArthur Highway, which leads us directly to Angeles City. The journey features varied landscapes, from lush highlands to flat agricultural lands, eventually arriving in Angeles City, known for its vibrant nightlife and entertainment options.
Here we will stay in the famous 5-star hotel ABC Hotel and enjoy a great dinner choice between a famous Chinese restaurant or the best Italian restaurant in the city. After dinner, we can explore the nightlife.

Day 13. Angeles City – Manila (110 km)

Today, we are sleeping in, and check out from the hotel at 12 noon. Then we will ride the short route back to Manila and be in Makati around 3 PM. We will stay at the same hotel as when we started the tour, and we will have a farewell dinner at the famous Argentinian steak-restaurant “El Gaucho”.

Day 14. Manila, Departure

Today, you leave for the airport, or stay a few days more in Manila. The choice is yours.
